Dr. Alicia Gwynn, Chair

Dr. Alicia Gwynn is head of the TAG Foundation, a philanthropic organization, dedicated to bettering the lives of disadvantaged adults, and a dedicated member of the community. A recipient of many awards denoting her volunteerism, Dr. Gwynn earned her doctorate in Christian Education and her Masters in Counseling. She has been noted as one of the top 20 most powerful women in San Diego by bizSanDiego and aspires to empower all women.

Debra Rosen, President & CEO

Debra Rosen is the President and CEO of the San Diego North Chamber of Commerce. Prior to her role there, Debra served as the CEO of the Downtown Business Association in Escondido. With a long career with the Union Tribune, Debra has spent many years in the San Diego Business Community and aspires to help build and maintain a strong regional economy.

Dr. Tanis Starck

Dr. Tanis Starck is the Director for the Department of Intercultural Relations and Cross Cultural Center within the Division of Student Affairs. A Ph.D. graduate of Howard University, Dr. Starck is a certified Psychologist in several states and has taught Psychology at the university level. She has extensive knowledge of student development and educational policies.

William Angus, CFO

William Angus is an associate with Green Line Consulting which provides creative solutions supporting sustainable economic growth among small and midsize clean and green technology businesses. Bill also has a history of accomplishments in the financial services and defense contracting industries. He graduated from the University of Pennsylvania, was an Officer in the United States Navy, and received his MBA from San Diego State University. Bill is the 2008-09 Rotarian of the Year and chair of Youth Service for the Rotary Club of Rancho Bernardo and serves as Co-chair of the Ambassadors for San Diego North Chamber of Commerce.

Rachelle Benson

Rachelle Benson is the Executive Director of Stepping Higher, Inc. She has over 20 years of experience in Human Services, overseeing and directing programs supporting diverse populations and economically challenged individuals. Rachelle has experience with Welfare to Work programs, and works with individuals with disabilities, helping those in need achieve more.

Ross G. Simmons, Secretary

Ross G. Simmons is the principal of The Simmons Firm, a Law Corporation in Rancho Bernardo. He specializes in start-up ventures, and real estate law. A graduate of USC and later UC Davis Law, Ross has served on many ethics and legal committees in the area and was named a San Diego County Top Attorney 2008 by his peers. Ross is involved with the Boy Scouts of America as a troop leader of Boy Scout Troop 681 in Rancho Bernardo.

Matt Sanford, Foundation Coordinator

Matt Sanford is the foundation coordinator for SDNEF. He is responsible for the execution and development of the Foundation and its programs. He is also the Communications Specialist for the San Diego North Chamber of Commerce. A graduate of the University of Oregon, Matt is committed to growing the foundation and the ways it can support students today.

Greg Muller, Intern

Greg Muller is studying for his MBA at Alliant University in San Diego. He is a 25-year-old Swiss student. His goal was to come to study in California so that he could further pursue his studies in another language. Greg plans on working in California for several years after graduating from Alliant University, and is using his internship to gain knowledge of the work environment in San Diego.
